With funding from the United States Embassy in Suriname and the sponsorship of the Youth Education and Leadership Foundation and Global Americans, we are pleased to present “Indigenous Rights and Extractive Industries in the Amazon,” a two-day virtual conference on human rights and environmental issues in the Amazon.
The conference will be broken up into two panels and hosted through Zoom. Although the first webinar occurred on Sept. 23, it was recorded and is available on the website with GlobalAmericans https://theglobalamericans.org

Prof Nagle will focus on human trafficking, organized crime, and corruption in the illegal mining industries in the Amazon
– Bruce Zagaris, Partner with Berliner Corcoran & Rowe LLP & Founder of the International Enforcement Law Reporter
Mr. Zagaris will focus on the illegal timber trade.
– Julia Marisa Sekula, Climate Security Program Coordinator at Instituto Igarapé
Ms. Sekula will focus on the problems in the Amazon in Brazil.
